Mask the hole and face

Silicone Flange / Washer Plugs

Flange or washer geometries protect a bore while also keeping the surrounding contact or grounding face clear.

Selection starts with the part and process.

Provide the hole diameter, required face coverage, counterbore detail and any grounding or contact-area requirement.

Use this product family when

A hole and its surrounding face must remain clean in one masking step.

Grounding, contact or bearing faces need a repeatable no-coat boundary.

Tape is too slow or inconsistent for a repeated hole-plus-face masking operation.

Do not use it as the first choice when

The face geometry is irregular and cannot support a flat washer area.

The part has limited clearance around the hole.

The required no-coat face is better handled by a die-cut tape or custom part.

Material and temperature statement

Material

Silicone material family selected after process and geometry review.

Temperature and process fit

Final material choice depends on the finishing process, exposure and reuse requirement.

Sample validation checklist

  1. 01

Check whether the flange seats flat before the process.

  2. 02

Inspect the no-coat face boundary after finishing.

  3. 03

Confirm the plug does not shift during handling.

  4. 04

Compare application time against tape or a two-step method.

Frequently asked questions

Why use a flange plug instead of tape?

A flange plug can mask the hole and face in one step when the geometry supports it, reducing application steps.

Can it protect a grounding area?

It may be suitable when the dimensions and process allow. Share the required bare contact area for review.

Need to confirm fit first?

Request a sample range around your measured size.

Samples can be scoped around actual process, dimensions and testing goals before a bulk order.
