Powder coating guide

Mask Threaded Holes Before Powder Coating

Threaded-hole masking requires the correct hole fit, insertion depth and removal method before the coating line starts.

Capture the thread condition

Provide the thread size, depth and whether the hole is blind or through.

Select a sample range

Test suitable tapered or pull plug options around the measured geometry rather than assuming a generic plug will seal.

Check after bake

Inspect for powder entry, removal effort and any plug wear after the actual oven cycle.

Ready to narrow the options?

Use samples to validate the final fit.

Include your process, product type, diameter, temperature, quantity and drawing, photo or current part number.
